<br />
What can I say, I'm nothing if not inconsistent. And yet, I am kind of consistent... consistently inconsistent. So really maybe I should change that to I'm nothing if not consistent. Either way, or any way you look at it, it has been awhile! Almost a whole year in fact. But the consistency I speak of comes from the fact that I have blogged in September since I started this blog in 2015, so I've got that going for me! I mean if you want to read something from me, I think I would suggest checking in September and you may just find a new post! Hopefully that's not the only time you'll find something new, but blogging in September looks to be a trend on this page so we'll stick with that!<br />
<br />
Anyone confused yet? No, just me? Maybe. I mean that happens pretty easily. Anyhow, where to begin... Last September, I was making posts on here, but at the same time I had another blog going that I had to do for a class at school, and so this one got neglected while I used the other one for school. And I know I could have merged the two blogs into one, and that was originally the plan, but then things just kind of got crazy and I never got around to it. Oops! <br />
<br />
I can't make any promises because when it comes to keeping up with this kind of thing, I am literally the worst! I mean the evidence is here for us all to see, I don't keep up in the blogging world very well. Yet, I do at times find it fun and enjoyable, and so when I get around to it I'm going to posts some posts here.<br />
<br />
<a name='more'></a><br />
Let's be real here, I was the kid who started multiple diaries and never filled any of them, not a one! You can go back and look at them, and there was promises I wrote to my diary that I would be better about writing in it, that I would write in it every night, that I would never forget about it again... Yeah, I was not great about keeping up with those promises. My poor, neglected diaries. I'm sure they felt that I really didn't understand the meaning of 'a promise is a promise' and for that I am sorry... yup, I think I just went there, I really did just said sorry to inanimate objects haha. I would be really good about it for a few days, or weeks and put so much pressure on myself to write about my day everyday in my diary, but then the pressure just amounted to be too much, and I gave up. Guess I'm consistent there too, this blog is pretty reflective of the same pattern. Interesting.<br />
<br />

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Diary Example 2: From July 6, 2003 (again, no clue why I wrote the date like that? I had to write above it year/month/day to translate so even I knew what I was talking about. Which is also why you don't need to read any more than my apologies and the pressure I put on myself about writing in my diary... no one needs to read the rambles of my 11 year old self haha). But yeah, look at how hard I was on myself for not writing in 4 months, yikes! Just a small snippet of my consistency struggles... they are just a part of who I am.</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
I learn so much about myself in doing this, and so that is why I like to do it, when I do it! But no pressure and no promises, I guess we're all just going to have to see what all comes out of this. I can tell you that I, myself, have no idea, but I'm all about giving it a go even if it is only a thing I do in September because that is apparently a tradition I have going on here. We shall see, but thanks for sticking around if you did or you do, thanks for stopping by if that's all you will do, and thanks to Adrianna, who is probably the only guaranteed read (besides my own) that I'll get on anything I post.<br />
<br />
And with that, I say adieu for now, till who knows when. But it is nice to be back and to ramble away again, because as we all know... or maybe not, but I do, and now you do, I do like to ramble, which is all this has been, rambling rambles with Erica that may or may not even make sense ;) haha<br />
<br />
Thanks for reading!<br />

</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;">
</div>
<br />
Is it just me, or does your entire life flash before your eyes when you chop up an expired credit card? Okay, that may be a little overdramatic, but I swear the past four years of having a credit card just zoomed by in my head as I took scissors to that old card.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://ericayvonne.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/Cut.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="cut" border="0" class="wp-image-109 aligncenter" height="453" src="https://ericayvonne.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/Cut.jpg" width="337" /></a></div>
Maybe this is not the norm, and yet I did just experience this because that's how my crazy mind works. I have no idea, as this is the first time in my life I have chopped up a credit card. How crazy is that?! I feel like it's a real life, adult milestone.<br />
<a name='more'></a>I wonder if in four years time, when it comes time again for me to chop up an expired credit card, I will experience this again? I feel that I likely will, and I wonder just what sort of journey my credit card and I will go on in these next 4 years of adventure.<br />
<br />
Going back to right now, with the expired credit card and scissors in hand, there was definitely a lot of dollar signs flashing before my eyes. Just this realization of wow, oh wow, how many dollars I spent with this card. I mean this credit card paid for clothes, it paid for shoes, food and concert tickets, lots and lots of concert tickets. This credit card paid for a new phone, it paid for an iPad and a laptop. This credit card helped take me on a trip halfway across the world. It kept me safe, and came to my rescue while I was in Europe and didn't have enough cash to pay for that awesome souvenir I really needed at the time... I mean I still need them, so really those authentic (expensive) Irish wool socks were worth it, but I digress. This credit card has paid for countless adventures, memories, and gifts for friends and family. I am not saying this to brag, I mean I've worked super hard to pay for all these things, and I'm proud of what I've been able to do independently because of hard work and a lot of saving, but really it's not about all the money.<br />
<br />
All these things that flashed before my eyes are experiences, they are memories and adventures, and I am grateful for each and every one of them. I am grateful for all the times I've been able to spend time doing fun things with my friends, for all those meals I was able to eat. I am grateful for the clothes on my back and shoes on my feet, for all the times I was able to give back, lend a helping hand, or say thank you. I am grateful for the times I learned independence, experienced new parts of the world, and found myself.<br />
<br />
Maybe these things don't necessarily come from a credit card or money, but they were the things I thought of, and am thankful for. It just took an old credit card to really sit down and reflect on it all and all of the life experiences these last four years, and even beyond have presented. Crazy that a pair of scissors and an old credit card can spring so much reflection and gratitude, but that's just how my mind works sometimes.<br />
<br />
So there you have it, expired credit card = gratitude. Okay, maybe not, but I truly am so grateful and blessed for all the adventures and opportunities I've reflected on. And four years from now, lets do this again and see what else I have to reflect on when my next credit card expires.<br />
I want to know... what do you think about when you cut up your expired credit cards? Anyone else have the last four years flash by as a life lesson on gratitude?<br />
<br />
Thanks for reading this random rambling with Erica ;)Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12784288770003920465noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-502051993870527521.post-45685288514786760072016-10-25T10:00:00.000-07:002017-08-31T22:10:11.677-07:00Life Lessons: Adulting Edition (It's Hard and Expensive)You know those times when you have so much to do that even just thinking or talking about all the things you have to do makes you out of breath. I'm experiencing that right now. I feel like I've never been so ridiculously slammed with so many different things all at once. The to do list seems to be ever growing and nothing is getting checked off. Life I tell ya, it's crazy sometimes!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://ericayvonne.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/image-e1477424851282.jpeg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="image" class="wp-image-95 aligncenter" height="323" src="https://ericayvonne.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/image-e1477424851282.jpeg" width="262" /></a></div>
But look, still smiling even if all those jackets on my head represent everything I have to do... But add a few more jackets, just like 10 or so!<br />
<a name='more'></a>I'm not here to complain, just trying to say it like it is. I mean it's good to be busy and I know it's not always going to be like this (at least I sure hope not?) so just have to keep trucking along and try my best to get everything done when it needs to get done. But seriously, is this what real adult life is like? Because if that's the case, I'm not sure that's what I signed up for and I'd like to go back to a simpler time where I don't have to remember so many different things. Between school, two jobs, attempting to have a bit of a social life, keeping up with family and friends, and responsibilities at home, all while helping plan a friends wedding... Holy cow, sometimes I feel like a chicken with my head cut off (and I just thought about that, how terrible is that saying. I mean that's gross! But at the same time I feel like it is an accurate statement to how some of my days have been going). I feel like I haven't had a full nights sleep in at least a week, and that's going to continue for at least the next couple weeks. But seriously, I swear I'm not complaining right now... Just tired. And learning so much, about real life, adulting, and myself.<br />
<br />
I know I can do it, I have been doing it all... Time to keep powering through, and it'll all pay off in the end. Speaking of pay though, holy cow I've had to pay for a lot! š Being a real life adult is expensive... Did I really sign up for this? And yet, I wouldn't trade it for the world. I mean I'm still pretty young, have great friends and family, and get to be involved in some exciting times ahead with them. There is celebrations to be had and so many new, fun experiences happening lately.<br />
But just a disclaimer and apology in advance, I am probably going to forget things. As much as I try to write things down and put them in my planner, somedays with the whole chicken with my head cut off thing, I forget what I'm even supposed to write in my calendar, let alone actually get the productive task I was supposed to do done. So I'm sorry, if I can't get things done right away, or if I forget, or if you feel like I'm neglecting you, it's not you, it's me. It won't always be like this, I'll get back on track and better organized eventually. Right now I'm just figuring out some of the realities of how to adult and I'll work at getting better at it. For now, just gonna keep on powering through, hopefully get a little sleep here and there and all will be good, it is good! Just busy. So there you have it, real life... At least for me. But I'd like to believe we're all in this together and let's support one another. So just know, I feel for you and support you if you feel so busy it makes you out of breath. You've got this, and you can do it too! And I'm banking on the fact that it won't always be like this (so please don't tell me that's not true, just gonna bask in that notion and carry on with my naiveness, if that's what it is) and you should too! So just keep carrying on and you'll get through it!Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12784288770003920465noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-502051993870527521.post-57686856933141866862016-09-23T21:07:00.000-07:002016-09-23T21:10:45.448-07:00Blogtember Day 23: Oatmeal Raisin CookiesHey all,<br />
<br />
I'm back! Things got a little crazy between school and work and life, and I just let the whole blogging thing slide for a bit... busy, busy. You know how it goes! But I'm back for another day of Blogtember :)<br />
<br />
Today's prompt is "A family recipe (if grandma allows it, of course!)" so a recipe I will share with you! I am a fan of baking, like a big fan... As a matter of fact, I have made three batches of cookies in the past two days (actually four if you count the one recipe that I doubled)! So there is a lot of cookies in my house right now, not that anyone is complaining. If I ever have to make cookies to give away, or as a gift, or for an event, or whatever it may be, I also have to make sure I always make extras for the hyenas I live with ;) Haha between all my brothers, and my parents... Okay, and me too... It is hard to keep a cookie jar full around here. So many need to be baked, or I will not have any left for when I need them. And I do need them for this weekend.<br />
<a name='more'></a><br />
Baking is my favourite rainy day activity, it is my biggest stress reliever, and it is also my biggest procrastination tool (oops!). I just love to take over the kitchen, be by myself and create a tasty treat! I like to turn up the music, dance around like a fool (who actually can't dance), and mix away my feelings... Or something like that?! ;)<br />
<br />
This recipe is a family recipe going forward, it's not like some ancient recipe that has been passed down from generations. It was me on a mission to re-create the best oatmeal raisin cookies I have ever had (shout out to Mt. Seymour for changing my life and baking the best oatmeal raisin cookies ever, that weren't a letdown when there was no chocolate chips in them haha). Now that I have succeeded, I will continue to make these cookies, and will be sure to be the one passing on this recipe to generations, so there... It's a family recipe, and I'm the grandma (in the future) who allows this recipe to be shared ;)<br />
<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
I originally found this recipe on Pinterest after a lot of searching to find exactly what it was I was looking for, and I have since adapted it slightly. I am sorry that I do not know the original source of this recipe, and I don't think I even pinned it. I just jotted down the ingredients and directions, and went to experiment for the re-creation oatmeal raisin cookies just like Mt. Seymour used to make.<br />
<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">All the ingredients. Yes I know the jars look empty... But there was enough flour and sugar in them, plus plenty more where that came from in the pantry. ...That reminds me, better go fill up the flour jar! </td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<b><i>Ingredients:</i></b><br />
<b><i><br /></i></b>
<b>1 cup butter</b><br />
<b>1 cup sugar</b><br />
<b>1/2 cup packed brown sugar</b><br />
<b>1 egg</b><br />
<b>2 tsp vanilla</b><br />
<b>1 2/3 cups flour</b><br />
<b>3/4 tsp baking soda</b><br />
<b>1/8 tsp baking powder</b><br />
<b>1/4 tsp salt</b><br />
<b>1 tsp cinnamon</b><br />
<b>a dash of nutmeg </b>(I probably use about 1/8 tsp)<br />
<b>1 1/2 cups rolled oats </b><br />
<b>3/4 cup raisins </b>(that's an approximate, I don't usually measure... If it's doesn't seem like enough, you can always add more)<br />
<br />
Start by preheating your oven to 350Ā°F (or do it halfway through like it did, I always forget!).<br />
<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Sugar going in, then cream it all together.</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<br />
In a large mixing bowl, cream your butter with the white and brown sugars, till it's fluffy. Don't forget the brown sugar like I nearly did! Man, I was a forgetful baker today... ;)<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg6vxCXKtS4z9DlM5y0CznBnnRg1hZHkVaP6Oc44MB851TTbU2y3Z98w4GKaWAxOKaR6E_4HRiQTzr22OpZ8w8-LW9GAPa4nwt4ThSuNOGaCP0JOQSimN5J_Rh6GCLPHoL8qzjne4-bUBc/s1600/FullSizeRender+8.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg6vxCXKtS4z9DlM5y0CznBnnRg1hZHkVaP6Oc44MB851TTbU2y3Z98w4GKaWAxOKaR6E_4HRiQTzr22OpZ8w8-LW9GAPa4nwt4ThSuNOGaCP0JOQSimN5J_Rh6GCLPHoL8qzjne4-bUBc/s320/FullSizeRender+8.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
Next, add your egg and vanilla and beat until the mixture is smooth.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhlYtgM24ET2OiP5-J43gMvfhcj-VwWqjDxAl1LU09_u2Ly4f1NUfU4_M0BCOlVcCuJ6gpdjGla0Xs78iNYdTYzrG9iBJPRL8eOccX0O967RrKL1mu60_kMrgWlcVlDPoC5QYWeXcVDwVo/s1600/FullSizeRender+7.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhlYtgM24ET2OiP5-J43gMvfhcj-VwWqjDxAl1LU09_u2Ly4f1NUfU4_M0BCOlVcCuJ6gpdjGla0Xs78iNYdTYzrG9iBJPRL8eOccX0O967RrKL1mu60_kMrgWlcVlDPoC5QYWeXcVDwVo/s320/FullSizeRender+7.jpg" width="299" /></a></div>
<br />
I'm a lazy baker, so I just combine all my dry ingredients in the measuring cup before dumping it into the bowl.<br />
<br />
If you prefer you can combine the dry ingredients (flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, cinnamon and nutmeg) in a separate bowl and slowly stir into the butter mixture.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjv3ISLNqMPCHSovFu0n4fj-J0neMSsbHaN6Ut4fXGSZxeDuODKyStXasXh0smcktovWZmmLb5uQxpO-TRH9SCVqayarT36CzwlwYlRqCd5GFbbrTbEgNIepaBvjuviZKTv687SHlbCT5E/s1600/FullSizeRender+6.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjv3ISLNqMPCHSovFu0n4fj-J0neMSsbHaN6Ut4fXGSZxeDuODKyStXasXh0smcktovWZmmLb5uQxpO-TRH9SCVqayarT36CzwlwYlRqCd5GFbbrTbEgNIepaBvjuviZKTv687SHlbCT5E/s320/FullSizeRender+6.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
Once the dry ingredients have been combined into the wet ones, pour in your rolled oats.<br />
<br />
Mix slightly (I use a spatula from here on out, as the batter gets pretty thick for the beaters).<br />
<br />

<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEioktVNTlU9bMWSwJJ2-xQK6RwWiNBkOg2AFZuFa1MGFXM1YRrzrpsnv8vLtzh0bGI56vA4l-A65yMtPjEcB_4vjIf_LoKibl4OfIGI8f-nm45rBVGfFgvDwTBdtSu5wCUTBx-JsPoGZQM/s1600/FullSizeRender+3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEioktVNTlU9bMWSwJJ2-xQK6RwWiNBkOg2AFZuFa1MGFXM1YRrzrpsnv8vLtzh0bGI56vA4l-A65yMtPjEcB_4vjIf_LoKibl4OfIGI8f-nm45rBVGfFgvDwTBdtSu5wCUTBx-JsPoGZQM/s320/FullSizeRender+3.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
Add desired amount of raisins. OR if you're not a fan of raisins you can leave them out entirely... this recipe is excellent for just oatmeal cookies too!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgPZWN4XdGPLBY5E6LMy3msw0rRRuqiifnf8Jnf8-O6_6X7JCxnaKrN_XoO9D1lhq4eiB7E8ZRaOQSsGiJxb8HRnwx0_N251tkXTL7wvHdgvMZcvjRQYUd4svEfZKL1izdf30YP3Nmr5ok/s1600/FullSizeRender+9.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgPZWN4XdGPLBY5E6LMy3msw0rRRuqiifnf8Jnf8-O6_6X7JCxnaKrN_XoO9D1lhq4eiB7E8ZRaOQSsGiJxb8HRnwx0_N251tkXTL7wvHdgvMZcvjRQYUd4svEfZKL1izdf30YP3Nmr5ok/s320/FullSizeRender+9.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
Continue mixing until it is all combined. It should end up pretty thick, and also pretty tasty, if you ask me. Just try not to eat all the batter!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhP3PEPzxl4qfji5ivLlwQixQPMTKpr1M46_OcsBzcq0IIWv9o_25azCXh3ti-iG41AQWSeg5uUCwvTNN0pcyK-AMnOCW3Y_GnONqbSkmAfHKjtA-FvmOdKFk7ZI7eJ2nrAOZPOVIWiy6o/s1600/FullSizeRender+2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhP3PEPzxl4qfji5ivLlwQixQPMTKpr1M46_OcsBzcq0IIWv9o_25azCXh3ti-iG41AQWSeg5uUCwvTNN0pcyK-AMnOCW3Y_GnONqbSkmAfHKjtA-FvmOdKFk7ZI7eJ2nrAOZPOVIWiy6o/s320/FullSizeRender+2.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
Roll the dough into small balls, and flatten with a glass (or the palm of your hand). Remember, I'm a lazy baker so I just use my hand. My grandma used to always say fingers were invented before cutlery. I think the same thing applies here... Hands were invented before glassware.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg-lJxjMjITbYYyqhSx0t4UP8qnd7LrmpkXBkvyXuPVXHQS2eJopxtumu0r3VO5NSRd0Wl1Adn-YUvaU6FrWbjTVKop-lBayZpr1Hdw65QMNEBR_2Nc58RQx1yrOQ4-t0ziq3lAD9VGpr0/s1600/IMG_2833.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg-lJxjMjITbYYyqhSx0t4UP8qnd7LrmpkXBkvyXuPVXHQS2eJopxtumu0r3VO5NSRd0Wl1Adn-YUvaU6FrWbjTVKop-lBayZpr1Hdw65QMNEBR_2Nc58RQx1yrOQ4-t0ziq3lAD9VGpr0/s320/IMG_2833.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
They should look something like this once flattened. That should be about enough space in between each cookie, they do expand out a bit.<br />
<br />
Bake at 350Ā°F until the bottoms are golden. About 10-12 minutes.<br />
I bake them for 10 or even a little bit less sometimes. You don't want the cookies to get brown.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiGZRtHHs55AGRKKcEYncp3welNJePvQvB2n_XUyL7z5beFpagjV4mme_RJ2uuYg0CYJTEeD0AKwV9ZxFR9F7mSnVcmRIXT6E9PmmhdJyTANaoPX__v3Fwane4XKnzd5zBnOiNDmA8U-uA/s1600/FullSizeRender+10.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="290" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiGZRtHHs55AGRKKcEYncp3welNJePvQvB2n_XUyL7z5beFpagjV4mme_RJ2uuYg0CYJTEeD0AKwV9ZxFR9F7mSnVcmRIXT6E9PmmhdJyTANaoPX__v3Fwane4XKnzd5zBnOiNDmA8U-uA/s320/FullSizeRender+10.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
And there you have it, a delicious tray of cookies. Let them cool on a wire rack.<br />
<br />
This recipe made 30 cookies (minus the one I dropped on the floor, that my brother quickly gobbled up... Hyenas I tell ya!).<br />
<br />
You'll have deliciously soft and chewy, flavourful oatmeal raisin cookies just like your grandma used to make! :)<br />
<br />
I hope you enjoy. Let me know if you try out this recipe!!<br />
<br />
Happy baking!<br />
Love, Erica<br />

<div style="-webkit-text-stroke-color: rgb(0, 0, 0); -webkit-text-stroke-width: initial; font-family: Helvetica; line-height: normal;">
<span style="-webkit-font-kerning: none;">So today, (well yesterday now) (and still yesterday, even though itās no longer the middle of the night and instead about 13 hours later that Iām actually posting this! (Got all that?)) ;) a couple of my friends and I decided to go for a bit of a nature walk/hike/adventure. We ended up down by the creek collecting cool rocks, and skipping rocksā¦ well skipping rocks for some. Iāve never been able to do it. And not for lack of trying, Iāve tried many a time over the years, just never ever succeeded. I was more the kid who just found the best rock to try to throw as far as I could into the water and make the loudest splash. </span><br />
<span style="-webkit-font-kerning: none;"></span><br />
<a name='more'></a></div>
<div style="-webkit-text-stroke-color: rgb(0, 0, 0); -webkit-text-stroke-width: initial; font-family: Helvetica; font-size: 11px; line-height: normal; min-height: 13px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="-webkit-text-stroke-color: rgb(0, 0, 0); -webkit-text-stroke-width: initial; font-family: Helvetica; line-height: normal;">
<span style="-webkit-font-kerning: none;">Itās not that I wasnāt ever taught or anything. I know over the years my dad definitely tried to coach my brothers and me on how to skip a rock. I think trying to teach five children how to skip rocks without any of us accidentally throwing rocks at each others heads when they went wayward, or you know, feeling too confident and accidentally stumbling into the river (#klutzgene), he had his hands full and it was just easier for us to throw our rocks while my dad skipped the rocks, and we watched and counted how many times the rock would skip across the water before it sunk. </span></div>
<div style="-webkit-text-stroke-color: rgb(0, 0, 0); -webkit-text-stroke-width: initial; font-family: Helvetica; line-height: normal; min-height: 13px;">
<span style="font-kerning: none;"></span><br /></div>
<div style="-webkit-text-stroke-color: rgb(0, 0, 0); -webkit-text-stroke-width: initial; font-family: Helvetica; line-height: normal;">
<span style="font-kerning: none;">Unconfirmed, but Iām sure on their own, at least some of my brothers have learned to skip rocks. I do know that I wasn't the only one that never did learn though, at least one of the boys still doesnāt know how to skip a rock.</span></div>
<div style="-webkit-text-stroke-color: rgb(0, 0, 0); -webkit-text-stroke-width: initial; font-family: Helvetica; line-height: normal; min-height: 13px;">
<span style="font-kerning: none;"></span><br /></div>
<div style="-webkit-text-stroke-color: rgb(0, 0, 0); -webkit-text-stroke-width: initial; font-family: Helvetica; line-height: normal;">
<span style="font-kerning: none;">Anyways, back to the creek with two of my super awesome friends. They were shocked when I said I did not know how to skip a rock, and that I had never successfully done it. That was not going to fly! I was going to learn, and we weren't going to leave until I did! I had some lessons, watched them do it a few times, really tried to learn the skill and technique and figure out the good flick of the wrist. Letās just say, I definitely did not get it at first. Was so focused on flicking my wrist, I forgot to move my arm the first time. That rock did not even end up in the water. Such a fail, and such a waste of a good skipping rock! The ones after that were better technique, but all failsā¦ Was apparently getting better though. Finally after a few solid attempts, while there was no pressure and my friends werenāt even paying attention because they were scouting out good, flat skipping rocks, I succeeded!! </span></div>
<div style="-webkit-text-stroke-color: rgb(0, 0, 0); -webkit-text-stroke-width: initial; font-family: Helvetica; line-height: normal; min-height: 13px;">
<span style="font-kerning: none;"></span><br /></div>
<div style="-webkit-text-stroke-color: rgb(0, 0, 0); -webkit-text-stroke-width: initial; font-family: Helvetica; line-height: normal;">
<span style="font-kerning: none;">At the age of 25 years, 2 months, and 1 day I finally learned how to skip a rock!! It may have only been two skips across the water, and I may never be able to do it again, but I did it folks, I finally did it!! </span></div>
<div style="-webkit-text-stroke-color: rgb(0, 0, 0); -webkit-text-stroke-width: initial; font-family: Helvetica; line-height: normal; min-height: 13px;">
<span style="font-kerning: none;"></span><br /></div>
<div style="-webkit-text-stroke-color: rgb(0, 0, 0); -webkit-text-stroke-width: initial; font-family: Helvetica; line-height: normal;">
<span style="font-kerning: none;">And it was the coolest thing! I felt like a little kid! I was so excited, I jumped for joy and hooted and hollered! I had done itā¦ Even if no one else had seen it! My friends were almost as excited as me! ;) We were all just so proud! Haha this was definitely a momentous occasion and so fun to feel like a little kid again, not a care in the world for a bit there. Just the focus on skipping a rock and the joy and celebration of actually succeeding in doing itā¦ Finally! It only took 25 years, but it happened. And as silly as it may be or may seem to some, it is an experience in this adventure called my life that is totally worth remembering! </span></div>
<div style="-webkit-text-stroke-color: rgb(0, 0, 0); -webkit-text-stroke-width: initial; font-family: Helvetica; line-height: normal;">

<br />
<div style="-webkit-text-stroke-color: rgb(0, 0, 0); -webkit-text-stroke-width: initial; font-family: Helvetica; line-height: normal;">
<span style="-webkit-font-kerning: none;">It really is about the little things! Why not try something new, or something you may have failed at in the past! Itās never too late, it doesnāt matter how big or small, or seemingly silly of a thing it might be, the joy and pride in the end is all the same! Just get out there and do it, whatever it is! And donāt have a care in the world. Youāre never too old to just be a kid again!! Lesson learned: Never give up! Itās never too late! :)</span><br />

<br />
It was a long day, and quite a unique one at that. I am a day (and a bit) late posting this as I was busy all day and way to wiped to post anything when I finally got home!<br />
<br />
I got roped into volunteering for the Whistler GranFondo, which is a bike race/ride from Vancouver to Whistler. This ride is about 122km long and these cyclists are climbing mountains while they're at it. Pretty impressive, it's definitely not a walk in the park and I give every single one of the 4500 riders or so all the credit in the world!<br />
<br />
I spent a lot of time on that course, but from the luxury of a luxury vehicle. I was the official co-pilot for my dad, who was piloting one of the sag wagons, as I learned it is called in the cycling world. We were a support vehicle, picking up riders who had mechanical issues, or were unable to continue the ride. I was the official communications operator in our car, taking calls and texts from other vehicles and the head command centre, and scouting for riders in need of support. Overall it was a very fun, interesting and long day. I would happily co-pilot again.<br />
<br />
So here you go, all the hours of my day... It was an early one.<br />

If I could go anywhere in the world, where would I go? For me, I feel like this is a pretty easy answer! While I want to one day travel the world, where I most want to go is ICELAND.<br />
<a name='more'></a><br />
<br />
Iceland just looks like the most interesting, fascinating, unique, beautiful, and coolest place ever!<br />
<br />
I think what initially drew me to want to go to Iceland was seeing in depicted on my favourite tv show ever, Departures (check out their website <a href="http://www.departuresentertainment.com/about.html" target="_blank">here</a> and watch Departures on Netflix, highly recommend it!!). Just seeing the glaciers, volcanoes, and everything in between would be an amazing adventure! Plus, the hot springs... Can you say Blue Lagoon. If you don't know what I'm talking about, do yourself a favour and look it up. Looks amazing, right?!<br />
<br />
I watched the movie The Secret Life of Walter Mitty mostly for the fact that I would get more glimpses of Iceland, and it didn't disappoint. Just solidified my dreams and desires to travel to Iceland myself. And the movie was alright too. ;)<br />
<br />
I have dreams of travelling to Iceland, seeing the culture and meeting the people. I honestly think it would be one of the coolest, most rewarding experiences, and one day, I will get there! You can count on that! :)<br />
<br />
Have you ever been to Iceland? Where in the world would you like to travel? Let me know!<br />
<br />
Thanks for reading!<br />

Hello,<br />
<br />
I love my bedroom, mostly because it's all mine and I've been over to really work at personalizing it in the year and a half that I've lived here. I have been taking it pretty slow in the decorating department and just adding things as I'm inspired really. I am loving how it is all coming together and love that it is a fun ongoing project.<br />
<a name='more'></a><br />
<br />
My room is like my sanctuary and escape from the hustle and bustle of life, but even just my own house too. It is a nice quiet place for me to just hangout, and create. I love that I can display all the things that I create as well in my room, and don't plan on stopping that anytime soon.<br />
<br />
I have done something here that I have never done before, which is make a YouTube video for this room tour... So please be kind, but I do hope you like it! :)<br />
<br />
So without further ado, please check out my video and let me show you my little, but awesome, albeit, kind of incomplete room ;)<br />

<br />
I hope you enjoyed!! Thanks so much for stopping by, and reading, and watching!!<br />

Let me know what you think?! :)<br />

I figure you might as well live a joy filled life because life is too short not to!<br />
<br />
Here are a few things that bring me joy:<br />
<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhQJPQUxmxBXb3Vy4mywO_mtMtJsKWUihvK5PhnGyz2yExXL9xDZ4TLXuDZCxkrh2f5dBYHeq48uHSjN2oNuZlSx6mxmN80yZfu3CYhbPZ58hhKHOcAo5fHRXzUuwJTW5JnyNF8zzWT5v4/s1600/IMG_2286.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhQJPQUxmxBXb3Vy4mywO_mtMtJsKWUihvK5PhnGyz2yExXL9xDZ4TLXuDZCxkrh2f5dBYHeq48uHSjN2oNuZlSx6mxmN80yZfu3CYhbPZ58hhKHOcAo5fHRXzUuwJTW5JnyNF8zzWT5v4/s320/IMG_2286.JPG" width="320" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Love my new shoes, and shirt and this whole outfit really! :)</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<a name='more'></a>1. Shoes! Well that and clothes, and just shopping in general. Sometimes it's just nice to get some new pieces and update the wardrobe. It's fun to get dressed up and put new outfits together. And shoes are always the best accessory. Can just complete an outfit, tie it all together so perfectly! It's so great, but so simple and makes me so happy! :)<br />
<br />
2. Lazy mornings. Did I mention I'm not a morning person? Yeah... So I love those mornings where I can just lounge around, drink some tea or hot chocolate, read a book or watch a movie, and just relax. And those lazy mornings when it's always raining too. The best! Can't get any better than being lazy, curling up and relaxing and just lounging away the day... Well until I have to get ready for work, or get on with the day and reality, or whatever haha.<br />
<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhMg00A2_GJ9CyVzYfzlTyX0o0msO96tAFTqquGCXd9Tl-PrfXEu10oYWlVDc2CdsG7uOTlcK8h0VHaH3QurN3futK-WVffl0iI1Rq3dqmMG_VRMgAU5YDeLpzuXYw3Xvz9HrwQeUpaRsY/s1600/FullSizeRender.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhMg00A2_GJ9CyVzYfzlTyX0o0msO96tAFTqquGCXd9Tl-PrfXEu10oYWlVDc2CdsG7uOTlcK8h0VHaH3QurN3futK-WVffl0iI1Rq3dqmMG_VRMgAU5YDeLpzuXYw3Xvz9HrwQeUpaRsY/s320/FullSizeRender.jpg" width="320" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Some of my ever-growing mug collection. So cute right?</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
3. To go along with those lazy mornings, I find joy in mugs. Is that weird? I love my ever growing mug collection, always adding to it. And if has a monogram, even better! I can never have too many e's in my life ;)<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiPp1ohrG_BD-STf8m-K4-CJihfi5la1kP3QxpLYsCDK-BglPjyGIwiUpDLcOtckByFXTOQRo5Soj2RqALRb_XHyonECs5JImkc6r_sUI_WS5oJ7MU94hUaWkNUugxj6ldQItJS2CgW-sA/s1600/Screen+Shot+2016-09-07+at+9.17.54+PM.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiPp1ohrG_BD-STf8m-K4-CJihfi5la1kP3QxpLYsCDK-BglPjyGIwiUpDLcOtckByFXTOQRo5Soj2RqALRb_XHyonECs5JImkc6r_sUI_WS5oJ7MU94hUaWkNUugxj6ldQItJS2CgW-sA/s320/Screen+Shot+2016-09-07+at+9.17.54+PM.png" width="240" /></a></div>
4. Flowers, and art, and art of flowers! I find joy in all of these things! Plus this quote is great, can't disagree with that! :) Fresh flowers, Katie Daisy art prints (check her <a href="http://www.katiedaisy.com/" target="_blank">here</a>, she's awesome!), and quotes... So much joy!!<br />
<br />
5. Hot showers. Especially on a cold day. Long, hot, uninterrupted showers are so great! That is where I do my best thinking, and I appreciate the times when I can just spoil myself, with the hot steamy water running down around me, do some good thinking, and refresh and recharge! So joyous... just not so much the getting out part haha! But I guess all good things must come to an end ;)<br />
<br />
So there you have it. Just a few snippets of things that fill me with joy! I'm sure I could think of so many more... I mean I didn't even mention my friends and family! Whoops!! They give me joy everyday, and just fill me up with all the happiness, and love, and light in the world.<br />
<br />
But anyways, there you have it!<br />
<br />
Happy, happy, joy, joy <3<br />

<br />
I love music. I honestly don't know what I would do without music in my life. I feel that it is one of lives greatest gifts and I am so grateful to all the musicians out there who choose to share their talents with people like me who have no musical talent or ability.<br />
<a name='more'></a><br />
<br />
This playlist I have created is a bit of a random assortment of different songs. It is a bunch of songs that I've totally been jamming to lately, plus some favourites that get me right in the feels, and a few older songs that I had kind of forgotten about until I started putting this playlist together. Of course there is plenty of Canadian content, as I am a big fan of many Canadian artists.<br />
<br />
I could have kept going with this playlist, I just felt there was just so much music I needed to add. I decided to draw the line at 30 songs, but then I thought of just one more song that I had to add... My bad! So sorry about the length of this playlist, it could be quite the commitment to listen too ;) haha but I do hope you check it out, and enjoy!<br />
<br />
Let me know what your favourite song is. I always love discovering new music, and artists! And maybe you can discover some new music too from this playlist I put together. Let me know if you did, or have a favourite song from it?<br />
<br />
Thanks for reading, and listening if you do that too :)<br />

<br />
Would you look at that! With this post I am all caught up, and have tied for as many posts as I did during last years Blogtember. I'm pretty sure I can surpass my goal and knock out some more blog posts this month! Woohoo! I'm giving myself a pat on the back right now. ;)<br />
<br />
Okay so today's prompt is "What is your most memorable birthday?"<br />
<a name='more'></a><br />
<br />
That's a tough question. I don't know if I can say that I really do have a most memorable birthday? I mean I am grateful for every single birthday I have, and I am so lucky and grateful to have good friends and family, that threw me great birthday parties when I was younger, and spoil me now that I am older.<br />
<br />
I do remember all my birthday's that would get rained out, and we'd be running from the pool to the change rooms to take cover from the approaching thunderstorms or torrential downpours haha. My birthday is in the middle of July, so planning to do fun, outdoor, summer activities is not unheard of. However, thinking back, it seems that about every 5 years or so my birthday falls on a really stormy day.<br />
<br />
And then there was my tenth birthday, where I got to have a sleepover birthday party for the first (and last) time haha. My parents weren't too keen on hosting sleepover birthday parties when they already had a full house with my four brothers and me. Can't blame them for that! My memories of that birthday are slim, but only because of lack of sleep. It was so fun, but I'm not sure anyone slept in my house that night... Sorry family!<br />
<br />
Overall though, what is most important and memorable to me, is having the people that mean the most to me around me for my birthday. If I can have a nice family dinner, and some ice cream cake, and have a chance to see all my friends, I am a happy camper. Honestly, when it comes to my birthday, I'm pretty simple to please. I don't like to make a big deal of it, but I also won't complain when my friends spoil me. They are too good to me! And I'm so grateful that they all go out of their way to make me feel special.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg6yJKSAUw5OyH09S_h5DXw5Hsw3Fah0FM0KZtGKyBux3BctdiWiwdgZ-vl0kakN1TFNDwSkW20uOqk1mET8SKN1_-HOrSM20E3FX9I6vlLFE-1wsNA4vKQjJMr9pnmBKvQyPPuLOfMc2k/s1600/IMG_1209.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg6yJKSAUw5OyH09S_h5DXw5Hsw3Fah0FM0KZtGKyBux3BctdiWiwdgZ-vl0kakN1TFNDwSkW20uOqk1mET8SKN1_-HOrSM20E3FX9I6vlLFE-1wsNA4vKQjJMr9pnmBKvQyPPuLOfMc2k/s320/IMG_1209.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
This year, just a month and a half ago, I turned 25. On my birthday, I was able to see all my friends, have ice cream for lunch, and go for a walk; and bake a cake (and eat it too) with my best friend! That was a pretty simple but special and memorable day, and if all my birthdays are just like that I'd feel so lucky. I know I am a lucky girl already.<br />
<br />
Receiving some beautiful birthday flowers and getting my birthday Starbucks the day after my birthday to wrap up my weekend were pretty perfect too! :) <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgofRe8xToghgW20Evr4o5DqrL1fY3ktq50uLCmCNtIzD3vgpcLrERvU2AuOEFbbB1-okNXeSmF7khGDGB7woutNnL6FLjJyF1ieruElilc9kETtJueX_-aXxNRwVQEWF-jt9BGetDHSoo/s1600/IMG_1215.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgofRe8xToghgW20Evr4o5DqrL1fY3ktq50uLCmCNtIzD3vgpcLrERvU2AuOEFbbB1-okNXeSmF7khGDGB7woutNnL6FLjJyF1ieruElilc9kETtJueX_-aXxNRwVQEWF-jt9BGetDHSoo/s320/IMG_1215.JPG" width="308" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
So there you have it, maybe that doesn't totally answer the question but that's what you're going to get from me! ;)</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Thanks for stopping by! Let me know if you have a really memorable birthday, or what your favourite birthday traditions are!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
As always,</div>

<span style="font-kerning: none;">My summer favourites are going to be a random compilation of many things... Hairstyles, outfits, music, art and so on. Most of these things are pictures coming from <a href="https://www.instagram.com/ericayvonne_/" target="_blank">my Instagram page</a>, because Instagram is where it's at, and it is my favourite social media platform! :)</span></div>
<div style="-webkit-text-stroke-color: rgb(0, 0, 0); -webkit-text-stroke-width: initial; font-family: Times; font-size: 16px; line-height: normal; min-height: 19px;">

Playing catch up here and determined to actually catch up! I'm not the best goal setter or achiever but I try my best to get things done, so the exercise of actually writing them down is probably a good thing. A new school year starts tomorrow, so now seems like a good time to set some goals.<br />
<br />
<i>Goals for September 2016:</i><br />
<i><br /></i>
1. Stay organized and on top of my school work. I need to make sure I'm am completing all my assignments in a timely manner and not leaving things till the last minute, because being that I am a pro procrastinator, that is very easy to do. Use my planner, and follow what I actually plan/write in there haha<br />
<br />
2. Keep up this blogging thing. My goal is to do more than 5 posts this month, as that was all I achieved during Blogtember of last year. And maybe if I keep it up, it'll become a habit and I can continue on more consistently once Blogtember is over?! No promises, but we shall see :)<br />
<br />
3. Read for fun. I have a stack of books beside my bed and I would really like to finish all four of them this month!<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjFPQWM1P2TfqUtOc6v0KSH-u5IRHemwH4p-Q0v2xxA3Y52cQZ9loT9j22He8HI03aCvTluPuaLb1IXZ1ptx2mjEnYcge43CJ0E-neLnhIrkA-cgY_SDfsrv60-O612Gx0fo7nQ7_2zTD4/s1600/IMG_2329.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" height="290" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjFPQWM1P2TfqUtOc6v0KSH-u5IRHemwH4p-Q0v2xxA3Y52cQZ9loT9j22He8HI03aCvTluPuaLb1IXZ1ptx2mjEnYcge43CJ0E-neLnhIrkA-cgY_SDfsrv60-O612Gx0fo7nQ7_2zTD4/s320/IMG_2329.JPG" width="320" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Maybe getting a real bedside table should be a goal too? ;)</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
4. Exercise! Get back to it because I have been slacking pretty much all summer. Just get outside and go for runs, or walks on those days where I just can't motivate myself to actually move. I always want/need to use my own body to build up my strength. Just have to hold those planks, work on some push ups and climb some mountains (but not).<br />
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
5. Finish my collage wall. Although I have a feeling that it will never actually be fully finished, in the sense that I am always going to be swapping things out and rearranging it. I would like to have the whole wall filled. My goal for this was the end of summer... and for that we're gonna go with the official calendar date for the last day of summer, so I have a few more weeks. This wall has become my pride and joy. It is a collection of art, pictures and things I love, things that I have created, or have been gifted by my amazing and talented friends. There is just a little bit more of the wall to be filled, and then I may even want to expand my collage on to the next wall as well... See this is why it may never actually officially be finished. But the goal is to have the blank space on the wall to the corner filled up.</div>
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">See that blank space at the end there... Need to fill that!</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<div>
<br /></div>
And those are my goals for September... We shall see how this all goes?! Going to try my very best :)<br />

<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjfIJLBPcKWF85Gd2XiJGAsNeWRiOcMug9lha-6Mi_17JHgcuh0SNT75l2ytG4cbFLNPCQ_BFIvgupstxHWekCSwAUDZH1lrgIyfnuky1fJxxvcg7MqEY2pxqqkjQUzes4s_T5UhILjEjI/s1600/IMG_2190.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjfIJLBPcKWF85Gd2XiJGAsNeWRiOcMug9lha-6Mi_17JHgcuh0SNT75l2ytG4cbFLNPCQ_BFIvgupstxHWekCSwAUDZH1lrgIyfnuky1fJxxvcg7MqEY2pxqqkjQUzes4s_T5UhILjEjI/s320/IMG_2190.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
I like to shop, but I don't like to spend that much money... Some probably call me cheap! Haha I call it... Well actually, I don't know what I call it? So yeah... I'm cheap. As I have gotten older though, I've learned that sometimes spending a bit more money on good quality clothing that will last a long time is better than just going with the cheap stuff. But I still am a fan of shopping the sale racks, hence the Aritzia Warehouse Sale.<br />
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
While this is the first time I have been, this sale happens every year in downtown Vancouver. They take over the Convention Centre and just pack it full of good quality, expensive clothing for deeply discounted prices. Super exciting, especially since Aritzia has become one of my go-to stores lately. And it is perfect timing too, a good sale in the last week of summer holidays before back to school. So perfect! </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
So I was able to pick up a few things, but not without a big hunt first. The convention centre is huge and there was clothes everywhere! Racks of clothing as far as the eye could see, but also just littered across the floor, and everywhere you turned. This was the craziest, most overwhelming shopping experience ever, but it was pretty good overall. <a href="http://ehdreeahnah.com/" target="_blank">Adrianna</a>, my trusty shopping buddy, and best friend, and I took the train into Vancouver early in the morning (okay, maybe not that early to some, but definitely pretty early for us!) and we arrived downtown about 8:45am... It was early, so I really don't remember. We grabbed some tea and got in line about 9:00am. It was the first day of the sale and the doors had opened at 7:00am, so the line was still very long. I think we had to wait about an hour and 15 minutes to get in, but thankfully it was not raining and we had a nice view of the mountains and the ocean. Once we got in and got to shopping, we decided to start at the accessories table. It was a good choice to get us comfortable in the experience without being totally overwhelmed by the racks upon racks of clothing, those of which we started wandering and picking through next. It was all kind of a whirlwind and I don't remember much haha. I just know at one point it got really busy and overwhelming. What I found to be a very good grounding exercise that helped me not be completely overwhelmed and panicked was to go to the jeans table and just pick through all the jeans to see if there was any I liked. It was a good way to block out the huge masses of people at the thousands of clothing racks, and instead just look at a whole bunch of jeans that were sorted into my size (mostly). </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
One tip I have is just load things into your shopping bag even if you're not completely sure of it. Just put all the maybes in there, and then when you think you're done, find a spot on the floor to sort through all your things into what you want to keep, what you don't want, and what you need to go try on in the communal change room. Was all quite the experience, but overall not as terrible and scary and overwhelming as I thought it could be. I mean don't get me wrong... It was very overwhelming, I definitely said that word way too many times in this post haha. I think I would go back next year, but maybe not quite as early in the morning. The lines seemed to not be quite as long in the afternoon. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Anyways, enough talking... Here is my haul:</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
1. First up, a super cute purple toque (or beanie to some). It is from the brand Talula, and is the Euston Hat in the colour Racing Purple. It was originally $18, and I got it for $8.99.</div>

<br /></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
2. I got another toque... Can never have too many when you live in Canada! :) This one is from the brand TNA, it is the Alps Hat in the colour Oxford Tan/H. Porridge (whatever that means?). It was originally $25, but I got it for $9.99. </div>

<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
3. Next up, this shirt from the brand Community. There was no tag, or price tag or anything so I have no idea on the size or style. The colour is a really light blue grey and it's so soft, cute, and just the perfect basic tee. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
From what I could tell from googling, a t-shirt like this would usually run for about $40, so getting it for $14.99 sounded pretty good to me!</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
4. This Parklife Bullpen Sweater is perfect for layering under jackets on those cool, rainy days, as well as for those times when I decide to exercise or go for a run. It's just a simple, black zip up with reflective trim on the zippered pockets, and is lined on the inside with a warm, almost fleece like material. It has thumbholes in the cuffs, and the cuffs also fold over to cover my whole hand for the really cold days I go running. I paid $39.99 for this sweater that was originally priced at $110 so I think I did pretty good there!</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg2n5X_r8lXMG8dCIWtvUW30cvsGxJ45NFctXlE4qZhFPRgZPbDR4__PryaaVjwwkfllYLEjUD6BUsEw5JzzI3mFNP_dpngYq6c64TZELsIMtIO5_i8zGXh5MxADDh9rqbRsHuevUMYkWQ/s1600/IMG_2217.JPG" imageanchor="1"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg2n5X_r8lXMG8dCIWtvUW30cvsGxJ45NFctXlE4qZhFPRgZPbDR4__PryaaVjwwkfllYLEjUD6BUsEw5JzzI3mFNP_dpngYq6c64TZELsIMtIO5_i8zGXh5MxADDh9rqbRsHuevUMYkWQ/s320/IMG_2217.JPG" width="240" /></a> <a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhYVD80NwSEtdp_P-W-9lc-3bK3fgZp0Jp4jpqdU7N9Zoj_xTBnJXidbS-9wuPOAW_v_Tql3-X8qZgFiIkGCCGbPqxsmQQNLKYW9cC2CFfnxi9oag8T7yty7EplJWprIZPXHdkaFBIQKKQ/s1600/IMG_2220.JPG" imageanchor="1"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhYVD80NwSEtdp_P-W-9lc-3bK3fgZp0Jp4jpqdU7N9Zoj_xTBnJXidbS-9wuPOAW_v_Tql3-X8qZgFiIkGCCGbPqxsmQQNLKYW9cC2CFfnxi9oag8T7yty7EplJWprIZPXHdkaFBIQKKQ/s320/IMG_2220.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
5. And finally, I got this dark heather black pencil skirt. It is super cute and so flattering on. I just hope I can find some good opportunities to wear it. I surprised myself that I actually ended up buying this skirt, as it is not something I'd usually go for, but I'm excited to try to style it and wear it this fall.</div>
<div>
It is the Lis Skirt in the colour Heather Hush, from the brand Wilfred, and while the original price isn't on the tag, from the googling I did I believe it was about $65, and I paid $39.99, so not the greatest but still a pretty good sale price. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjfOJu2cmiEh8nUkjxPJH8ueveKQHkolZ0wocdIGQwkEKrbfFqNg6_Ge87LHEwoB_3NDLGTy3TOQctnrkIlYRLlLtuXOQm0vRXji4GsK5Kopx2-z83rXC9T0DY_Hfv6i4MiFvhIV7vQvhE/s1600/IMG_2227.JPG" imageanchor="1"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjfOJu2cmiEh8nUkjxPJH8ueveKQHkolZ0wocdIGQwkEKrbfFqNg6_Ge87LHEwoB_3NDLGTy3TOQctnrkIlYRLlLtuXOQm0vRXji4GsK5Kopx2-z83rXC9T0DY_Hfv6i4MiFvhIV7vQvhE/s320/IMG_2227.JPG" width="240" /></a> <a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg2QSqieIxdNQcNtVAAFSspgpP0NUCPTmRCrOG59v9NkBzanXaB30zBK5HqL-S1Zx_UnS9_rEqrihGYR9hjeZg1Xa45Hza7dV011zdWyauZao5T9jfIuBBGIQ5Uv0Rn7-sj_adNkGifCFg/s1600/IMG_2225.JPG" imageanchor="1"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg2QSqieIxdNQcNtVAAFSspgpP0NUCPTmRCrOG59v9NkBzanXaB30zBK5HqL-S1Zx_UnS9_rEqrihGYR9hjeZg1Xa45Hza7dV011zdWyauZao5T9jfIuBBGIQ5Uv0Rn7-sj_adNkGifCFg/s320/IMG_2225.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Overall, the cost of these items at regular price would be approximately $258, and I paid $114 (not including tax). So a total savings of approximately $144 makes me a pretty happy camper! :) </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
The one thing I would have liked to see at the sale is more basics, like the tees, tanks, hoodies and leggings. There was little to no selection of these things that I saw, which is a bit of a disappointment as that is what I was going in to look for. However, I am happy with the purchases I did make, and the experience overall was pretty good. I would go back again (next year).<br />
<br />
If you would like to check out Adrianna's haul, she wrote a blog post too! You can find it <a href="http://ehdreeahnah.com/lifestyle/haul-aritzia-warehouse-sale-2016/" target="_blank">here</a> :)<br />
<br />
And we vlogged a bit of our day and shopping experience, so you can check that out below! :)<br />

<br />
So blogging has turned out to be a thing that I am not very good at, inconsistency is where it's at. I do enjoy it however, so I've decided to participate in Blogtember again this year. While I am starting late (again), my goal is to try to do more posts in this month than I did last year. I only did 5, so I'm really hoping to do a lot better. We shall see how it goes?!<br />
<br />
I think <a href="http://www.braveloveblog.com/" target="_blank">Bailey Jean</a> is the most awesome person ever for putting this together, and I'm gonna follow her lead on this one and use her game of Either/Or because why not, it seems fun?! Here goes nothing... I'm pretty indecisive so I might not be able to pick, or maybe just have to blab some sort of explantation on everything...<br />
<br />

That was fun! But see, I'm absolutely terrible at this game. Haha oh well! Hopefully that wasn't too painful, and maybe you learned something about me :)<br />

This poor, neglected and forgotten about blog... Let's give this another shot! </span><br />
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<span style="-webkit-text-size-adjust: auto; background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0);">It is okay, you are enough, you're right where you need to be, you'll figure things out. These are all things I say to myself but probably need to remind myself of even more often. These things can relate to so many aspects of life... Pretty much everything in my life. For instance, with this whole blogging thing. I have no idea what I'm doing, and I have no idea what to write about most of the time. Between the fact that I'm a perfectionist, think I don't have any good ideas (and forget any that I do think may actually be good enough), and that I think no one is going to read it anyways, I got to a point of just kind of forgetting it and figured what's the point? So with that, I've come up with this: </span></div>
<div>
<span style="-webkit-text-size-adjust: auto; background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0);"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="-webkit-text-size-adjust: auto; background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0);">Letter to Myself (and anyone else who may need it),</span></div>
<div>
<span style="-webkit-text-size-adjust: auto; background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0);"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="-webkit-text-size-adjust: auto; background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0);">Erica, remember this. It does not matter if it's not perfect and if no one reads this. Do it for yourself. Don't worry if an idea is good enough or not, just write what you feel like writing because it will be good enough. Do not care so much what other people think and don't worry that you're not a writer or a blogger, if you're doing this you can and are just those things. And if not, then just fake it till you make it (that's pretty much what you're doing anyways, and it is working out alright). All of this can apply, not only to this whole blogging thing, but also in the rest of life. Erica, things are okay. You're not going to be in school forever (maybe for awhile, but it won't be forever). You'll find what you're looking for, maybe not right this second, but it will all work out. Things will come as they may and you'll be ready for anything. You are good enough, you are doing just fine, everything will work out just how it's supposed to, you'll find your path in life! You've got this!! </span></div>
<div>
<span style="-webkit-text-size-adjust: auto; background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0);">Sincerely, </span></div>
<div>
<span style="-webkit-text-size-adjust: auto; background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0);">Erica<br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="-webkit-text-size-adjust: auto; background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0);">And on a side note, shout out to the awesome lady with the most adorable toddler that I encountered at work tonight, who was nice enough to randomly just give me some words of encouragement. She didn't know me or anything about me but she went out of her way to tell me that I was doing a good job and that there is still hope. ;) Thanks for being so nice and awesome, and capping off my night at work with your kind words that helped inspire this post and made me smile! </span></div>
<div>
<span style="-webkit-text-size-adjust: auto; background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0);">Disclaimer: work was just fine tonight, I don't know what prompted this lady to say anything but it made a good night even better. So again, thank you! :)</span></div>

<span style="font-family: "helvetica neue light" , , "helvetica" , "arial" , sans-serif;">Wow so I kind of forgot about this whole blogging thing for a few months there... Whoops! I'm also pretty sure I have forgotten how to blog... Not that I ever actually knew how to blog in the first place! </span></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
And even though this is really late I feel I need to write this as a huge thank you! </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
A bit of backstory first... Earlier this year, Adrianna and I decided to each order a #mysterybag, which would include five clothing items, which would be a mystery to us until we received them. We got these mystery bags from <a href="http://www.tentree.com/ca/" target="_blank">TenTree</a> which is pretty much my most favourite brand, and they're Canadian too! TenTree is awesome in that for every item purchased they plant ten trees, hence the company name. Clever, eh? Anyways, I was so excited about buying these that I thought it would be really fun to film us opening them, like an unboxing video! It just so happened that TenTree sent us a follow up email asking us what we thought about the mystery bags and we were able to send them our video to show them exactly what we thought! To my surprise, they loved it and asked us if they could use our video in their email blast the next time they released mystery bags! Of course that would be okay, what a cool opportunity!</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
As a thank you, and completely unexpected by me, they sent both Adrianna and I a mystery bag! I am so grateful for this, it was so surprising and exciting and I seriously cannot thank TenTree enough! Especially Erin from the TenTree team, she deserves a shoutout for her emails and communication, keeping us up to date on the packages being packed and shipped. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Being that this was such a cool opportunity, I wanted to share it. I'm really excited about what I got in this mystery bag, and decided to write a bit of a review... (Please forgive me for the terrible photos!)</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Item #1: </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
This awesome shirt, I love it so much! The style of it with the scooped neck and the scooped bottom is awesome! I love the logo created with the feather print! The colour of it is so nice, on the website they call it smoke... I'd say it's a smoky green colour, if that even describes a colour at all. It's super nice and light and airy and the softest t-shirt ever, it's great! Very versatile too, I wear it with leggings or tuck it in to my jeans, and it looks great! Can't say enough about how much I love this shirt!<br />
<br />
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhWlWuQ4A_2Y_tLYjmL53g2uALNbubkV2tVaUiP7TfkIGQAFLzuRjVwEcG19ESebzbg4Nj0khqA-nLKe4IuKpitKjQ4La_XZL0osNMzVAVWo5MGl8oTZqCN7viouTLEE4NlLgnkhRSNrM0/s640/blogger-image-2076254002.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhWlWuQ4A_2Y_tLYjmL53g2uALNbubkV2tVaUiP7TfkIGQAFLzuRjVwEcG19ESebzbg4Nj0khqA-nLKe4IuKpitKjQ4La_XZL0osNMzVAVWo5MGl8oTZqCN7viouTLEE4NlLgnkhRSNrM0/s640/blogger-image-2076254002.jpg" /></a><br />
<br /></div>
<div>
<br />
Item #2:</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
This super cool tank, it's the nicest blue colour ever and the print is super cute! I love the watercolour look, it's really cool! I'm also a huge fan of the racer back style of this tank top, and the fact that the straps on this tank are adjustable is great too, it's perfect for me to make sure I get the best fit! I can't wait for warmer weather to actually get to wear this more! </div>
<div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhWQ-MD0m6d12TR_RLDzdpj176_Aa9jdT1-9t0AATlDQ60uoRxlNXOXLgww47m7XENTGEUnFRP1cyniEgZZhWrDZ-OKv9G8V2p88rDGoghNEbL87Xn2xsSGAmfuxSE72pMEjnLDyqyvXR4/s640/blogger-image--1853315921.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhWQ-MD0m6d12TR_RLDzdpj176_Aa9jdT1-9t0AATlDQ60uoRxlNXOXLgww47m7XENTGEUnFRP1cyniEgZZhWrDZ-OKv9G8V2p88rDGoghNEbL87Xn2xsSGAmfuxSE72pMEjnLDyqyvXR4/s640/blogger-image--1853315921.jpg" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
</div>
<div>
Item #3: </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
This is pretty much the coolest three-quarter length sleeve shirt ever! The colours in this are so me, I love the pinks and purples! This shirt features the classic tentree logo and just like all their other products, does not disappoint in the softness department. It's just so light and flowy, comfy and soft! This shirt is perfect to wear with leggings as it's longer in the back, and it's seriously just so cute and fun! I'm not sure if this is what the shirt is called, but on the tag it says #iridescentforest, and I just love that hashtag so much! I totally see how it describes this shirt so perfectly! </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEilCbM4vBV7f2Bl-8bnaLcyBaVuxDUAHcWPacp58khVyqlvODl_wKlHG_HTnIeyGkoQUOftq2D1jjAKYurKlnFPCqicpvSxbZSiH14l62XFuqTILaIDtCPZNpN1n4ZGUBxc9mLlX392psQ/s640/blogger-image--1715284841.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEilCbM4vBV7f2Bl-8bnaLcyBaVuxDUAHcWPacp58khVyqlvODl_wKlHG_HTnIeyGkoQUOftq2D1jjAKYurKlnFPCqicpvSxbZSiH14l62XFuqTILaIDtCPZNpN1n4ZGUBxc9mLlX392psQ/s640/blogger-image--1715284841.jpg" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
</div>
<div>
Item #4:</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Okay so if I was saying that all the other shirts I got were soft, this one is like out of this world soft. It is like wearing a warm, cozy hug. It's so comfy and soft and warm! This shirt has the cutest print, I love the detail with the trees and the arrows and the different fonts, it's so adorable! This is a nice long sleeve shirt, and I just want to wear it all the time! This picture doesn't really do it justice, but it's a really nice pinky peach colour that is super nice! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEje9_eQ069OBT8Mu8Q-QqYLu_Hijkigj1r1ItcH8P-bYe78A27kSbXFS6xBwgfk9NJJCnmfsfcEg0bvxrpNR9e7GsxYcgX9VmQ5C7x8hH2kTNN28MMivd1o2DvCIpr058rL-M4umYksvfk/s640/blogger-image-1636879153.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEje9_eQ069OBT8Mu8Q-QqYLu_Hijkigj1r1ItcH8P-bYe78A27kSbXFS6xBwgfk9NJJCnmfsfcEg0bvxrpNR9e7GsxYcgX9VmQ5C7x8hH2kTNN28MMivd1o2DvCIpr058rL-M4umYksvfk/s640/blogger-image-1636879153.jpg" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div>
Item #5:</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
So TenTree basically has the best hoodies ever and I love the ones I have so much, I wear them all time! This one does not disappoint, it's super thick and warm and comfy cozy! I will admit though, that since I already have two grey hoodies from TenTree, I decided I would share this one... As this one is a little bit too big for me, and I'd say it's pretty unisex I'm actually giving it to my little brother, on the condition that when he grows out of it or doesn't want it anymore, I get to have it back! So really I'm just lending it to him, sharing a bit of the TenTree love! I know he's going to be so excited as he doesn't have any TenTree clothes of his own yet, but he loves their stuff too! </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg61sgVeWQ6lznmTAYPmmBSBveDbLOURUFz34-5EbHEItD8p8T6uicTKud1xKN4M7zMHFl__53zz4w30dLuoh6gRKRSIWZluk9NaalkyYJzfx_NKidzrerXlzmxWFOGIjGxhKk1S3rR2aw/s640/blogger-image--1611080181.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg61sgVeWQ6lznmTAYPmmBSBveDbLOURUFz34-5EbHEItD8p8T6uicTKud1xKN4M7zMHFl__53zz4w30dLuoh6gRKRSIWZluk9NaalkyYJzfx_NKidzrerXlzmxWFOGIjGxhKk1S3rR2aw/s640/blogger-image--1611080181.jpg" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<br /></div>
<div>
I love everything I received and I am so excited to wear my TenTree clothing, share the love, and spread the word! I want to say thank you, thank you, thank you to the TenTree team for being so wonderful and sending me this complimentary #mysterybag. I am so grateful for this and all the items I have received.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
I recommend checking out <a href="http://www.tentree.com/ca/" target="_blank">TenTree's website</a> to see what awesome products they have available right now, as well as their <a href="https://www.instagram.com/tentree/" target="_blank">Instagram</a> if you want some awesome outdoor, nature shots which is right up my alley. I totally love their Instagram feed! Also check out Adrianna's YouTube channel where you can find the first<span style="font-family: "helvetica neue light" , , "helvetica" , "arial" , sans-serif;"> TenTree unboxing video, aka <a href="https://youtu.be/CGfa83wdSgU" target="_blank">Part I</a>, as well as one we just did, aka <a href="https://youtu.be/cyLI3WuBn3Q" target="_blank">Part III</a></span>, because yes, we purchased mystery bags for each other as early Christmas gifts as the addiction is so real! Also, be sure to check out <a href="http://ehdreeahnah.com/beautyandfashion/tentree-mysterybag-unboxing-part-ii/" target="_blank">Adrianna's blog</a>, she wrote about her mystery bag too!</div>

And yet I'm excited to talk about my Friday night of doing not much because sometimes doing nothing is exciting!<br />
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
So the night begins with a conversation with my brothers about what to do for dinner, I hear some mentions of Chinese food, and that sounds perfect to me. I leave it to the boys to decide on what dishes to order and I head up to my room to catch up on some random YouTube videos... I sort of have an addiction to watching vlogs. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
I hear a loud knock at the door, like it is a really heavy knock I tell ya! I run down the stairs wondering who it could be, as I didn't think we were expecting anyone. At the door, I can see that it is a tall guy standing there, and I have no idea who it is. I open the door with a "Hello?" and confused look on my face... Especially when I see he's holding a bag of food. He just says "Chinese food...?" Uhh <blank stare on my face> so he elaborates a bit more, "did you order Chinese food?" At this point I'm really confused because, while yes we were ordering Chinese food, I'm pretty sure the plan was for my dad to pick it up on his way home from work, like always. I tell this delivery boy that I'll check and I call out to my brother, as I'm doing this though, delivery boy friend looks down at the order of food in his hand and exclaims "Oh sh*t! This is for number 19, you're not number 19! No wonder you looked so confused!" That's right folks, we've got a genius on our hands...the house he was looking for was a few doors down. He ran back down the front walk so fast, he was so embarrassed, the poor guy! I really did feel bad for him, but I couldn't help but laugh! And the funny thing is, my brother had just finished placing our order for Chinese food as the knock on the door came! Can you talk about the speediest of speedy service! But no, I was right...my dad was picking up our order! </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Not something that happens very often, at least in my experience! But it was funny, my bother and I sure had a good laugh about it! And the poor delivery boy, if he wasn't so embarrassed and ran away, maybe we could've bonded over the moment and he could've had a good laugh too... What if fate was trying to bring us together and he ran away just as the opportunity presented itself! Haha I'm totally kidding, but it could have had the potential to be like something out of the movies!</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
After all that excitement, things went back to normal. We ate the Chinese food that my dad brought home, and then I headed down to the river for a walk. It's a beautiful, relaxing escape for me to head down there, especially when the sun is setting. There's a boardwalk down by the river and it has become like a sanctuary for me, just to look at the river and the setting sun, reflect on the day and enjoy the calm peacefulness. It had been a long time since I'd been down there so it was nice to go back. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
When back from my walk, I made myself an ice cream sundae and watched too many episodes of Full House before heading to bed. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
So in summary, basically my Friday night in looked like this: watch some YouTube, order and eat Chinese food, go for a walk, eat ice cream, and watch Netflix before heading to bed. Pretty solid Friday night of not doing too much, if you ask me. Just how I like it!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
Thanks for reading, hope you enjoyed my ramblings! ;)</div>

Maybe even today, but we'll see how it goes.<br />
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
There's not much of a story (at least in my mind) about where my blog name came from, but I still feel like it's something I can talk about... Although to be honest I could probably talk about anything right now because I may be a little on the bored side haha.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Anyways, the name of my blog is <i><b>My Moon and More</b></i>, if you didn't already know. Deciding on this, in itself was quite a feat, as I'm sure my bestie Adrianna can attest to (thank you for being so patient!). I am a perfectionist and a very indecisive person and I just could not decide on the perfect name. I used some tips on how to name your blog and all that, and it really just led me all over the place with a whole bunch of words that didn't really fit together, or were too cliche, or just not me. It really was a struggle! </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
I went to Adrianna for help because she is always full of ideas and understanding when I'm in one of these dilemmas. She suggested I think of something that had to do with the moon, because I feel I do have a connection to the moon. I'm a Cancer, and from that stems my moonchild-ness I believe. I just find comfort and calm when looking at the moon, and I feel like it speaks to me, so really it probably was the obvious choice.<br />
<br /></div>
<div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
I mean the moon may feature on my Instagram on occasion... I just can't help it!</div>
</div>
<div>
With the idea of the moon firmly implanted in my head, finally, I instantly thought of the title of a Sarah Dessen novel, <i>The Moon and More</i>, and I decided that was it, it was the perfect name! Unfortunately though, that URL was already in use and unavailable to me. But Adrianna to the rescue once again, she appreciates alliteration as much as me and suggested MY Moon and More. Of course, that was it, it is my blog after all, might as well call it mine! </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
And there you have it, this blog was born!</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
To the moon and back, </div>

Made a rookie mistake and forgot to save before my iPad died, so sad! But let's try this again! This blog post is now five days late (sorry about that) but I just couldn't pass up this prompt! I mean is all about music and I love music! And who doesn't love sharing their music with others... I know I do! Music is basically my life, it's the perfect pick me up and can describe what I'm feeling even when I myself don't know how to describe it! Music really is magical and I don't know what I'd do without it! I'm so thankful that there is so many talented people out in the world who can share their gift with the rest of us! Musicians really are so talented, and since I have no musical abilities or talents myself, I am grateful for the music creators of the world! So without further ado, let's get to my list of songs brought to you by the shuffle of my iPod:<br />
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
1. <i>All to Myself</i> <span style="font-family: Helvetica Neue Light, HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">- Marianas Trench</span></div>

<div>
<i style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;"><br /></i></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">And because I'm such an overachiever and can't help but share my music with whomever will listen, here's a bonus five songs... I just couldn't help myself!</span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>

<div>
<span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">13.<i> I Choose You </i>- Sara Bareilles</span></div>

<div>
<span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">There's<i> </i>just a little sampling of my taste in music. I'm a big supporter of Canadian music being that I am Canadian so I'm happy to see </span><span style="-webkit-text-size-adjust: auto; background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0);">Brighter Brightest, Bodhi Jones, Hedley, and Marianas Trench made it on the list! Music really is the best! </span></div>
<div>
<span style="-webkit-text-size-adjust: auto; background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0); font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Helvetica Neue Light, HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;"><span style="-webkit-text-size-adjust: auto;">And if you'd like a sampling of all these songs, I put together a playlist on Spotify (it's just missing Taylor Swift, so if you want to listen to Stay, Stay, Stay you'll have to find it yourself)</span></span></div>

I have no idea what I'm doing! Really stepping out of my comfort zone here and trying something new. To be honest, as I write this, I have yet to even set up a space for a blog. I have no blog name, and actually just no blog in general. I sort of feel like I started doing this all backwards, but hey at least I'll have something to post as soon as I have a blog up and running. And if you're reading this, then obviously setting up a blog was a success (YAY). I hope I can find interesting things to say, I mean I'm really not much of a writer. But hey it's a new month, a new school year, why not try giving new things a try. Although let's be honest, I'm not sure if this was even my choice at all! I was peer pressured into this whole blogging thing (out of love, apparently) by my best friend, Adrianna. But it is something I've thought about before and I do enjoy reading other people's blog as an outsider, so why not give it a shot and try jumping in with two feet, right?<br>
<br>
I wouldn't feel right just starting a blog without first talking about myself and giving some sort of introduction... But really I hate talking about myself and I'm not sure why I even said I should talk about myself, I mean I don't want to sound egotistical. But introductions are totally normal, so on with that I will go...<br>
<br>
Hello, my name is Erica.<br>
<br>
<span id="goog_1046099125"></span><span id="goog_1046099126"></span><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEijQsaS_WEvVchcEaTp5wksA3q6sN2-xXXBQbMW_XaaAM_zgkvA-vjE5ozIPlrO7vOpY0NX6tdhFFvb75uSPxg2NYAgVZ9zpOoPD3H0OqvXoYnH-Ds92-OWp8a8-X3bq_ohMuYZDpCERig/s640/blogger-image--1498631313.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEijQsaS_WEvVchcEaTp5wksA3q6sN2-xXXBQbMW_XaaAM_zgkvA-vjE5ozIPlrO7vOpY0NX6tdhFFvb75uSPxg2NYAgVZ9zpOoPD3H0OqvXoYnH-Ds92-OWp8a8-X3bq_ohMuYZDpCERig/s640/blogger-image--1498631313.jpg"></a></div><br>
<br>
I live in the beautiful country of Canada, and I'm a west coast kind of girl living just outside of Vancouver. I love so many things about where I live, the fact that I am free to roam and can hit up the beach and the mountains in the same day if I so pleased. I really am so lucky to have so many things to do at my fingertips, but sometimes I think I really need to get out there and appreciate it more. Not to say that I don't appreciate it, I mean at heart I'd like to think I'm a total nature girl. I feed off of sunsets and trees, clouds and the moon, and all the beauty of the outdoors. I just don't spend as much time outdoors as I probably should.<div><br></div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiKj8SN6nnIHRbR4n7sLnH-FdnMN2fn2Vu0L68yUJyrUyOT_otsyTXaVHwVLjFyJ8-tKmisIbhts9Lv6W5pp-qEfrzloN9an2_2PNnaMn5w1UHaTxScvuiJpWrI3Ny3yxMX37xidotL1q8/s640/blogger-image-952605059.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiKj8SN6nnIHRbR4n7sLnH-FdnMN2fn2Vu0L68yUJyrUyOT_otsyTXaVHwVLjFyJ8-tKmisIbhts9Lv6W5pp-qEfrzloN9an2_2PNnaMn5w1UHaTxScvuiJpWrI3Ny3yxMX37xidotL1q8/s640/blogger-image-952605059.jpg"></a></div><br>
<br>
This summer I probably worked too much...not hard when you've got three employers! But hey, got to save up for a rainy day! Which is back, the rain, I mean! And it's very welcome back too... We're used to a lot of rain out here on the wet coast and this was one of the driest, hottest summers ever. The end of August brought about a huge, scary windstorm (just to remind us all not to mess with the power of Mother Nature) and then the rain started and it didn't really stop until this weekend. And I'm not complaining one bit, torrential downpours... I was born ready for them! And for some reason I just gave you an entire weather report. I guess that something about me that maybe I myself am just realizing, I think I am fascinated by the weather. So there you go, the more you know.<br>
<br>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjC-lp2KInk8XfOEWjLFyw66g8GCVxK9s2cvFeOJsumCFs5973G2VAkkuHoNLab-1Lh5kVgiHfruC_s8HdoZDXWSBouqcwi-QFulKgokRXhHT4QhfO5nLOmz9AxAFdqzxUKQNMcThKojoE/s640/blogger-image--1721101933.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjC-lp2KInk8XfOEWjLFyw66g8GCVxK9s2cvFeOJsumCFs5973G2VAkkuHoNLab-1Lh5kVgiHfruC_s8HdoZDXWSBouqcwi-QFulKgokRXhHT4QhfO5nLOmz9AxAFdqzxUKQNMcThKojoE/s640/blogger-image--1721101933.jpg"></a></div><div><br></div>A few more random things about me:</div><div><br></div><div>1. I can be really shy and quiet, but once I'm comfortable it can sometimes be hard for me to stop talking.</div><div>2. I ramble, and I'm sorry if I'm rambling.</div><div>3. I'm 24 years old and I still have two baby teeth. Yes, I do feel ripped off by the tooth fairy! </div><div>4. I have four brothers.</div><div>5. I totally felt the spirit of Cory Monteith (RIP) after he died, and people think I'm crazy but I swear it's true.</div><div>
<br>
I'm not really sure where this whole blogging journey will take me, but I must say writing this super random and all over the place kind of blog was sort of fun. I'm going to try my best to keep working at it and make it a habit...at least a few times a week. Hopefully this challenge can help me with that, since I'm already behind though I don't think I'll be doing every single prompt. Sorry to disappoint (I say more to myself than anyone, because so far I'm doubting anyone is going to want to read what I write).</div><div>
<br>
Until I write again,<br>
Erica<br>
